Stalks

Edited using : This picture was edited using Picasa 3

Impression of:
Dry stalks sometimes relate to our lives. When one is depressed or lonely, life gets so monotonous and everything around feels gloomy and dry. But there is hope on the other end, as new leaves grow on the dry stalks symbolizing the dawn of a new day with a new hope.

How to use: Its a good desktop wallpaper and probably a wonderful frame to gift someone with a nature quote on it.

A bed of dry leaves

Edited using : This picture was edited using Picasa 3

Impression of: A bed of dry leaves during spring on my terrace in Bangalore. When you have a look at nature during spring, its so joyful, birds chirping, trees fully blossomed and look awesome with fully grown lush green leaves. Amongst the best of nature there stood a tree near my house which shed all of its leaves. The beauty lay in the dry leaves on the naked tree with only its dry stalks. There is so much of depth in the colours of dry leaves too if observed carefully. Their rumbling noise when the wind whooshes.. The crumbling sound when one walks over it.. The messy ground which one has to clean every morning to avoid blocking of the drainage.. This picture brings back to me so many memories from my child hood. It is close to heart :)

How to use: Its a good desktop wallpaper and probably a wonderful frame to gift someone with a nature quote on it.

The Guess Series - IV

Edited using : This picture was edited using Picasa 3

Impression of:This is my heart :) Doesn't the picture give an impression of a heart with two eyes. I love this picture only because i see a heart in it. I used simple effects of Picasa in this order- tuning of light, highlights, shadows and then desaturating the picture flowed by giving it some glow and gradually tinting it with a flashy red colour and finally used the tool of focal black and white. Now it is upto you to guess what was the original tool in the picture which gave this impression of the eye. Two eyes but no nose..

How to use: This is going onto my bed room walls someday. I just love the whole idea of a heart in the picture.

Diverity Week at UQ

Edited using : This picture was edited using Photoshop 7

Impression of:This picture is close to my heart, because this picture had the privilege to be part of the UQ diversity week 2009.

I find myself lucky to be able to live amidst nature’s lap, on the banks of Brisbane River. The
habitat here is diverse in its own and home to many a reptiles and birds. The diverse flora
and fauna are so mystical and dazzling that one look at the milieu brings new hope and
eternal bliss. We have to learn to appreciate the diversity of Nature and learn to instill the
same into ourselves so that we are able to live in harmony and peace with people of diverse
cultures and religion.

But lately Nature has witnessed destruction of its trees and pollution of the River, disturbing
the flora and fauna around my town house. I ponder many a times, that a small burn could
hurt me day and night. How would it feel to perish day and night incessantly for years? We
have destroyed Nature for a long time now, it is high time we realize our mistakes and stop
destruction. Save Nature and Save ourselves. Else Dooms day would be closer than ever
expected.

Always put yourself into other’s shoes. If it hurts you it probably hurts the other person too.
In the picture the shoe belongs to Mother Nature. The feather, twig, snail and pebbles
personify nature. The creepers in the backdrop are in black and white as they portray
destruction of Nature. The picture is an example of selective coloring and has been edited
using Photoshop.

Pure Black and White

Edited using : This picture was edited using Picasa 3

Impression of:This is a simple example of a high definition Black and White photo editing. As you can see it is a roller comb. A simple object, but gets enhanced against a pale background. The best part of editing is, no one ever has to worry about lighting or the position of a picture. One can play with it to any extent.

Tip: To deliver a high definition black and white picture, always take the photograph with a pale white or yellow background. This is the only way to enhance the picture quality of the object.

How to use: This would be a good template and my desktop or my phone wallpaper.

How to use: This would be a good template and my desktop wallpaper. This is a wonderful an an economical replacement for a costly canvas painting.
